Shirley Downing

Shirley Ledebur Downing 80, of Chesterfield, Virginia passed away on April 2, 2014. The daughter of the late Cora Zerbe Ledebur and George Ledebur, she was also proceeded in death by her two sisters, Althea Webster and Geraldine Buzard; and a daughter, Judith Downing Gilbert. Mrs. Downing was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and retired from Allied Chemical, now Honeywell. She was married to the late Ned Downing. They raised seven children and between them had twenty grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She leaves cherished memories with her children Jeffery Outlaw, Jonathan Outlaw, Ken Outlaw, Kristine Downing, Mary Boswell Downing, and Butch Downing and her first husband and father of her three sons, James C. Outlaw. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
