Shirley Guthrie

Shirley Jean Guthrie, 79, of Chesterfield, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born March 22, 1936 in Tennessee. Mrs. Guthrie was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mabel Tilson Whitehorn; brother, Danny Waldrop; and her husband of 31 years, John T. Guthrie Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Guthrie Kelly and husband, Michael; daughter, Kathleen Auvinen-Houde; sister, Bernice Peterson of Tennessee; brother, Michael Waldrop of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Heidi Collins of Massachusetts, Liisa Blondeau of Massachusetts, Adam Kelly of New York, and Matthew Kelly of S. Chesterfield; two great-grandchildren; cousins, Pasty Lewis of New Canton, Brenda Burton & Lisa Forrest of Gloucester; cousin, Larry Briggs of Tennessee; several nieces & nephews; and her special friends, Joyce Skeens, Refugio & Angie Lopez, Stephanie & Carlos Cunningham. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Rosewood Presbyterian Church, 5500 Oaklawn Boulevard, Prince George, Virginia 23875 with the Reverend Sylvester Bullock officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the church.
