Shirley Kirkendall

Shirley Ann McIntyre Kirkendall, 83, of Colonial Heights, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018. She was born on January 23, 1935 in Shelby, North Carolina to the late Robert and Inez McIntyre. She retired as the Director of Medical Records at John Randolph Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Eugene Kirkendall. She is survived by two daughters, Julia Kirkendall Cox and husband, Kirk, and Jeri Kirkendall Bower and husband, Tim; four grandsons, Lane Kirkland Cox, Carter Adkins Cox, Blake Patterson Cox and Cameron Reagan Cox; sister, Elizabeth O ‘Donnell and husband, Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Rev. Dr. Randall T. Hahn officiating. The family will begin to receive guests at the funeral home beginning at 2 p.m. Donations may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 284, P.O. Box 57, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
