Shirley Roberts

Shirley Maxine Roberts, 82, of S. Chesterfield, passed on Thursday, July 11, 2019.  “Maxine” was born in Wise, Virginia on July 20, 1936 and moved to S. Chesterfield in 1964.  Maxine loved and cherished her family and spending time together.  She enjoyed cooking, camping and especially gardening.  She made the best chocolate balls at Christmas! Maxine was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, Archie Huffman and Ova Sanders.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Larry Eugene Roberts; children, Darlene (Mike), Michael (Bridget), and Dianne (Shawn); grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben), Christopher (Amanda), Amanda (Eric), Joshua (Britney), Brittany (Dakota), Meaghan (Kylan), Alana (Jacob), Whitney, and Jessica; great-grandchildren, John, Haylie, Noah, Alexandra, Ben, Christian, Jackson, Amaya, Haley, Courtney, Ethan, Oliver, Penelope, Avalene, Eliana, Charlotte, and Anastasia; sisters, Geraldine Wyatt and Charlotte Wyatt (Roger).

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Scott Price officiating.   Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. S. Prince George, Virginia.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.  Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
