Shirley Spain Rosser (Nanny), 81, formerly of Petersburg peacefully passed away on January 23, 2016. She was born September, 1934 to the late Nina and Edward Spain of Colonial Heights and preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, the late William H. Rosser, Jr. She is survived by her three children, Kathy Rosser Tierney and husband Bob of Chester, Laurie Rosser Pry and husband Shawn of Hopewell, and William H. Rosser III and wife Tanya of Colonial Heights, 6 grandchildren, Meredith Tierney Shields and husband Christopher of Zurich, Switzerland, Matthew Tierney and fiancé Ashley Frazier of Chester, Amanda Hayes and fiancé Lawrence Livingston of Hopewell, Andrew Allgood of Chester, Paxton Rosser and Hank Rosser of Colonial Heights, 2 great grandchildren, Makayla Randall of Hopewell and BeBe Shields of Zurich, Switzerland to be born in June, 2 sisters-in-law, Clara and Mary Rosser of Colonial Heights, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Shirley was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She will be missed and remembered as a loving and spirited wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 27 from 6:30-8:30 at E. Alvin Small Funeral Home at 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia with the Reverend Dr. Andy Brockelman officiating.
