Shirley Vaiden

Shirley Jones Vaiden, 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Richmond, she was the daughter of the late Wilton Irving Jones and Anna Tremer. She was a member of Matoaca Baptist Church and was a retired Accounting Clerk after twenty-six years for Chesterfield County General District Court. Mrs. Vaiden is survived by her husband, John E. Vaiden, Jr.; her daughter, Rose D. Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida; two step-daughters, Vicki Tomko and granddaughter, Brianna Tomko both of Prince George, Patti Watkins of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; grandson, Daniel Decker; three great-granddaughters, Kayla Decker, Sierra Decker and Ella Decker; her sister, Hazel J. Finch of Dinwiddie; her brother, Russell L. Jones of Charles City; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Matoaca Baptist Church, 6409 River Road, South Chesterfield, 23803, with the Reverend Donald Joyner officiating. Burial to follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
