Stanley Evan Hofmann of Chester, VA passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at his home. Stan was born on May 9th, 1960 in Bit burg AFB, Germany to Lt. Col. Larry Hofmann of Hampton, VA and Marilyn Helmsing Hofmann Brickell. He is survived by his step-father, Russell Brickell. The family, along with Stan's four siblings, settled in Chester in 1968. As an adult, Stan was a life-long resident in and around the Chester area, however his father's military service took him to Kansas, Louisiana, Turkey and Ohio before settling in Virginia. Stan spent his career as a Sales Representative and Sales Manager in both the auto and marine industries. When not working, Stan spent time with family and friends. Attending NASCAR races, and a love of music were some of his favorite hobbies. Stan is survived by his parents and by his children, Kristin Hofmann and her son, Aidan and Kevin Hofmann and his wife, Nicole and daughter, Kylie. In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Steve Hofmann and his wife, Karan, Sandra Graham and her husband, Keith, Scott Hofmann and his fiance, Becky and Sharon Pardue and her husband, Edwin. He is also survived by step-siblings, Mark Guthrie and his wife, Robin and Alison Dowla and her husband, Jim in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home in Colonial Heights, VA at 7:00 p.m. with a gathering and reflection time to follow. Services will be officiated by long-time friend and now pastor, Brian Conyers. Donations may be given in lieu of flowers to the Mcshin Foundation who serves to facilitate in recovery from addiction (at mcshin.org or 2300 Dumbarton Road Richmond VA 23228).
