Steve Hayes

Steve Michael Hayes, 59, of Chester, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at MCV Hospital in Richmond. He was the son of the late Lucille Jones Van Wyck. He was the Owner and President of the American Veteran Construction Company, and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife Sandra Seay Hayes; son, Matthew W. Hayes of Chester; a daughter, Kathryn E. Hayes and son in-law, Christopher Wirth of Richmond; granddaughters, Carrie L. Hayes and Alyssa N. Wirth, a devoted brother in-law, three sisters in-law, with numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be Private. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
