Steven Tanner

Steven Ray Tanner, 55, of Chester passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at John Randolph Medical Center. He was the son of the late Clarence Ray Tanner and Mary Frances Vaughan Tanner. Steven worked as a diesel mechanic for the trucking industry for many years. He is survived by his life partner, Gwen Carr; children, Kayla C. Tanner and Kaitlin Rae Tanner of Chester; sisters, Terri Lynn Revels of Midlothian and fiancé, CW Throckmorton of Danville, Kelly Dawn Adams of Chester; nieces and nephew September Lynn Adams, of Dinwiddie, Cameron Scott Adams of Dinwiddie, Jherrica Childers of Hawaii; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and loving pets, Bo Jack, Dixie, and CoCo. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Burial will be private at a later date. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
