Stuart Fink

Stuart Alan Fink of Colonial Heights went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2014. He was born October 2, 1946 in Johnston, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph Samuel and Louise Ward Fink. Stuart was a retired machinist and engineer designer, but the most rewarding was being employed by the Life Church and Life Christian Academy. He became known to the preschoolers as "Mr. Fix It." He was a United States Navy Veteran. Born into an adventurous family who enjoyed boating on various waterways, camping & traveling led Stuart into becoming an avid yachtsman for 52+ years, RV'er, and motorcyclist. He was a member of Life Church, an Assemblies of God Fellowship, the Christian Motorcyclist Association for 8 years, and President of CMA Virginia Christian Riders 2011 and 2012. He and Wanda were honored in being asked to start the Assembly of God Honor Bound Motorcycle Ministry at Life Church even though he had been diagnosed with cancer January 2013. They completed the Global University ministry course together and on August 25, 2013 they received the Honor Bound colors, where he served as President, and the ministry was launched at Life Church, where his legacy will live on forever. Stuart is survived by his wife of 43 years, Wanda D. Fink; son, Gary E. Fink and wife Robin; grandchildren, Airman Joshua D. Fink, Steven C. Fink, Krystal D. Fink, and Karen N. Fink; adopted grandchildren, Airman Jonathan M. Cherry and Madison L. Cherry; a sister, Louise Fink Dunton; a niece, Tamara Mosconi-Dunton; great-niece, Teryn D. Carver; great-nephew, Jonathan D. Carver; great-great-nephew, Noah Justice; great-great-niece, Bella Justice; extended family, Michael and Diane Dawson, the Reverend Michael and Teresa Cherry, Ricky and Susan Crowder. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Life Church, 16801 Harrowgate Road, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with the Reverend C. Scott Tischler, and the Reverend Mike Cherry officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
