Sydney Hampton

Sydney Lavae Hampton, 7, of South Chesterfield earned her angel wings on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 surrounded by her family. Born May 5, 2015, she was the daughter of Sidney Lavon Hampton, Jr. and Pamela Michelle Branch. She and her family are members of Community Christian Church.

Queen of being sassy, Sydney ran the house. Her personality was infectious, and she loved dancing and singing at the top of her lungs. Going out to eat was one of Sydney’s favorite things to do. Food was her happy place. For downtime, Sydney enjoyed watching YouTube. She loved going swimming and was most excited when she was able to go to the beach. Her most favorite activity was playing with and taking care of her baby brother, who she loved so much. Sydney wanted to be a doctor or veterinarian when she got older.

Sydney was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, George Branch and wife, Frances; great-great grandmother, Shirley Lea; great-great-aunt, Johnsie Lee Jones; and aunt, Savannah Straughter.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved parents, Pamela Michelle Branch and Sidney Lavon Hampton, Jr.; cherished baby brother, Emerson Lea Hampton; maternal grandparents, Tracy and Brian Branch; paternal grandmother, Sandra Smallwood; paternal grandfather, Sidney Lavon Hampton, Sr. and wife, Mischelle; great-great-grandfather, Phil Lea, Sr.; paternal great-grandparents, Dennis Barnes and Ann Willis; maternal great-grandmothers, Janie Boykins, Pamela Holschuh and husband, Brett; maternal great-grandfather, Timothy Humphries, Sr.; aunt and uncles, Gerogers “J.R.” Stallworth, Brian Drew, Sierra Slade and husband, Domonick, Sedric Hampton, Dylan Branch, Madison Branch, Carter Branch; and other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Ave, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Monday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Noah's Children, 5855 Bremo Rd, Richmond, VA 23226. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
