Sylvia Young

Sylvia D. Young, 78, of Chesterfield, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at her residence. Born in Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Myrtle Mitchell Ladner, and the widow of Everett H. Young. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Hartley and husband, Dean of Chesterfield and Gay Nell Fallaw of South Carolina; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Private interment will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. The family will receive friends following the service until 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
