T. Wayne Balch Sr., 69, of Colonial Heights, entered into eternal rest after a long and courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy on Saturday, March 10, 2012. He was the son of the late Tommy and Mildred Balch and was a retired employee with Virginia Department of Transportation. Mr. Balch was the past President and Founder of several local Car Clubs. He worked tirelessly for many local charities and events for which he was awarded the Citizenship award of Chesterfield County. Mr. Balch had raised several hundred thousand dollars for Muscular Dystrophy through the annual M.D.A. car show held at Richard Bland College. He is survived by his son, T. Wayne Balch Jr., of Prince George; one brother, Larry K. Balch and wife, Jeannie of Colonial Heights; numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of his Life will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 2033 Boulevard. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of T.
