Tae (Lee) Kum Dotson, 71, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at her residence. Born in Korea, she was the daughter of the late Jae-Jong Yi and Ak-Yi Kim, and the widow of SSG Henry E. Dotson (USA Ret). She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tae-Su Yi and Tae-Yun Yi. Mrs. Dotson formerly attended Cameron Avenue Church of Christ. Mrs. Dotson was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her daughters, Patty Dotson Daly of Chester, Debra A. Wert and husband, Jerry of Christiansburg, Tae Dotson Andrews and husband, Donald of Colonial Heights, S. Kim Taylor and husband, Rick of Sandston, and Barbara Uzzle and husband, Scott of Chester; grandchildren, Thomas E. Daly III, Joshua T. Parcell (Hillary), Travis A. Riggins, Weston L. Taylor (Allison), Donald H. Andrews III, J.R. Wert II, Nathaniel W. Wert, Emily B. Uzzle, Amanda K. Taylor, and T.J. Uzzle; great-granddaughters, Emily D. Daly, and Scarlet E. Daly; sisters and brothers, Tae-Bun Yi of Korea, Ok-Ja Yi of Korea, Chun P. Yi and wife, Kwang of Chester, Suk-Ju Yi of Korea; nephews, Jee Hoon Yi and Chung Hoon Yi both of Chester; many nieces and nephews in Korea; special friends, Sun & Mike Kuykendall of Prince George, Ok-Ja & James Teems of Colonial Heights, and Monica & Roland Reaux of Colonial Heights. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Mr. Mark Dailey officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
