Tara B. Bish

Tara B. Bish, 67, of South Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg. She was born in Petersburg, Virginia, on March 12, 1957, to the late Jesse Thomas Biscoe Sr., and Grace Gleason Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Jerome Thornton Sr., Randy Biscoe, and sister, Elva Thompson.

Tara is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Donald F. Bish, their two daughters, Heather L. Bish, and Tiffany D. Homeyer, two granddaughters, Aubree and Avery Bish, one very spoiled grand-dog, Lucy, two sisters, Lessie Moore, Linda Kopeshke, and brother, Jesse T. Biscoe Jr. 

Tara enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service with Wells Fargo Bank and later spending 8 years with Primerica. Outside of work, she loved gathering for family dinners and playing cards, especially Phase 10. She treasured her time with the "Lunch Bunch" crew, sharing meals and stories with close friends, and held a special bond with her longtime neighbor and dear friend, Peggy. She was an avid birdwatcher and lover of all animals, especially horses. She cherished annual trips to the Poconos or the Great Smoky Mountains each fall with her husband, Donald, for their anniversary. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Following the service, interment will take place in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the funeral home.
