Teresa Lands

Teresa Ann Tarkenton Lands, 62, of Ford, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at her residence. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, she was preceded in death by her father and mother; Norman Sager and Lillie Ann Ellis Tarkenton. As the Pastors wife, and member of the Southside Baptist Church, she was the church secretary and instrumental in organizing various church functions, such as weddings, dinners, etc. for many years. She is survived by her husband, Pastor Arthur E. Lands; three sons, Kevin Lands and wife, Chantelle of Dinwiddie, Michael Lands and wife, Hanna of Ford, and Daniel Lands and wife, Erin of North Chesterfield; grandchildren, Dustin Lands, Cody Lands, Alexia Lands, Isabelle Lands, Ava Lands, Brandon Lands, Lily Lands and Jason Lands; a sister, Pam White and husband Bill of Chesapeake; brothers, Carl Tarkenton and wife, Nancy and Norman Tarkenton of Virginia Beach; with numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church 2007 Boydton Plank Rd Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Burial will follow in the Lands Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday 2:30-4:00PM prior to service at the church. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to the Southside Baptist Church in memory of Teresa.
