Thelma Lewis

Thelma Roberts Lewis, 88, of Chester, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014. She was born May 15, 1925 to the late Robert Hudson Roberts and Maggie Green Roberts, and was the widow of Elwood Crouch and Thomas M. Lewis Sr. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur W. Roberts Sr. and Norman E. Roberts. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Ettrick United Methodist Church, and was a retired machine operator with the America Filtrona Company. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Lewis Ozmore of Chester; two sons, Thomas M. Lewis Jr. and Kenneth E. Lewis both of Chester; a sister, Cecil Mae Edwards of Amelia; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Charles Roberts officiating. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12 to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
