Theodore Lindsay

Theodore Leo "Shorty" Lindsay, 82, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania on April 16, 1929 to the late Theodore V. and Helen Sumosky Lindsay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Altie Harris Lindsay. Mr. Lindsay was a long time resident of Pungo, Virginia before moving to Colonial Heights, and was a resident of the Colonial Heights Health Care Center for the past 5 years. Mr. Lindsay was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Colonial Heights, and was a retired Chief Boatswain's Mate after 30 years of service with the United States Navy. He is survived by a brother, William Lindsay and his wife, Diane of Chester; two nieces, Dina Fogleman (Barry) of Mohrsville, Pennsylvania, Michele Schirf of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; a nephew and godson, Michael Lindsay (Valerie) of Wapwallopen, Pennsylvania; great nieces, Helen Schirf and Carly Fogleman; goddaughters, Carol and Erin Buchan; Aunt Ceil; and lots of cousins and friends to remember Ted, Chief, Shorty. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday September 17, 2011 in St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Virginia with Father Lou Ruoff, celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Ann Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at church. The family wishes to thank the staff of Colonial Heights Health Care for the care and friendship given to Ted. We'd also like to thank the staff of Southside Regional's ICU for their care and compassion this past week. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
