Theresa Morgan

December 19, 1945 — January 3, 2014

Theresa Bradford Morgan, 68, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 3, 2014. Theresa was born in Logan West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Whirles Bradford. Also waiting for her in Glory are her sisters Yvonne Craft and Patricia Makel, and brothers Tyrell and Charles Bradford. They are all of the Washington, DC area. She is survived by her children, Kelli Morgan-Parker and son Chris Morgan along with his fiancé Susan McGowen of Colonial Heights. She also leaves a grandson Shanon Morgan of Colonial Heights, her niece Valerie Little, and nephews Keith Craft and Robert Makel, Jr., along with many other family and friends all of the Washington, DC area. Theresa spent her childhood in Logan, W.V., spending much of her time with her beloved Grandmother,Enola Mayweather, affectionately known as "Loga Mamma". Her parents moved the family to Washington, DC when she was a teenager, where she graduated from Roosevelt High School. She was attending Howard University when she married the late Milligan "Mickey" Morgan who joined the US Army. After many duty stations, the family was stationed at Ft. Lee, VA where she began her career in the automobile industry as a counter clerk at the old Ft. Lee Service Station. Amassing over 30 years of service, she spent many years at Firestone in Hopewell and Petersburg Motors. She is remembered for her phenomenal people skills and providing excellent service. So many of her loyal customers followed her as she moved up the ladder until she finally retired at Crossroads Ford in Prince George. Theresa was loved by many and known for many things - a great dancer, her wonderful sense of style and impeccable cleanliness, a fantastic sense of humor and her infectious laugh. She was an active member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Prince George, and adored her Church Family for their love, their talents and their friendship. Although small in stature, she had great strength and a great big personality! She leaves behind a host of wonderful, lifelong friends and countless memories, many with her best friend Patricia (Pat) Nunnally of Petersburg, her close friend Tallulah Lassiter of Prince George, and James Jackson, Jr. whom she loved as her own son. The family will receive friends to share memories from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
