Thomas E. Hale, 66, of Surry, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 following a brief illness which he so bravely fought. He was born on September 30, 1954 to the late Thomas C. and Ruth D. Hale. Mr. Hale retired from Honeywell after 41 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debra M. Hale; daughter, Ashley H. Baldwin and her husband, Brad Baldwin; granddaughters, Berkley and Natalee Baldwin; sister, Donna Hatfield and her husband, Jon Hatfield; nephew, Nathan Hatfield; special aunt, Sylvia Matthews; loyal canine companion, Sophie; and many loving friends. Tom’s love for Scotland Wharf began at the age of 5 when his parents bought their summer cottage. In 2015 he fulfilled his lifelong dream of building his forever home on the James River. As an avid outdoorsman, his passions were skiing and hunting, being so well known for his barefootin’. But above all he cherished his faith, family, and friends. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805 with Reverend Chris Jenkins officiating.
