Thomas Simmons Ii

Thomas Franklin Simmons II, 36, of Emporia, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2009. He attended First Memorial Baptist Church, Emporia. He was employed by Verizon as a Manager, and was a member of the Ruritan Club. Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harry F. Simmons. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Ann Simmons; two children, Berkley Christina Simmons, and Harry Franklin Simmons II both of Emporia; his parents, Preston Randolph and Gloria Sowder Simmons of Sutherland; a sister, Heather Simmons Viar of Chesterfield; paternal grandmother, Helen C. Simmons of Matoaca; father and mother-in-law, Larry W. and Dorothy Reynolds of McKenney; and a niece, Kenslee Grace Viar. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Robert L. Rowland III officiating. Interment East Matoaca Cemetery, Matoaca. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
