Thomas Snowdy, Sr.

Thomas Edgar Snowdy, Sr., 81, of Colonial Heights, VA went to rest in the Lord on Saturday, June 26, 2021. He is survived by his children Thomas "Chobby" Snowdy Jr. & Erna, children: Natassja, Nathan, Nicholas, Noel. Naomi Snowdy & Dean Hannah, children: Katie, Josh, Caleb. Karen Kostrub, children: Dustin & Casey, Ashley, Aly. Andrew Snowdy Sr. & Jean, children: Andrew "Drew" Jr., Lexy & Brian (Buff), Matthew, and Ralph E. Dawn & Scott Stephenson, children: Nicole, Amber, Brantley. Great-grandchildren: Isabella, Lily, Mason, Layla, and Knox. His sister: Sharon Wold. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Ruth Carol Bryant Snowdy, and his parents, Edgar W. Snowdy and Cecilia V. Snowdy, and brother James C. Snowdy.

Thomas enlisted in the Navy on 09 November 1961, He qualified for submarine service and served on the following subs: USS Sea Leopard (SS 843), USS Scamp (SSN 588), USS Ray (SSN 653), USS Sand Lance (SSN 660), USS Sunfish (SSN 649), and the USS Lapon (SSN 661). After his service in the Navy Tom worked for various contractors supporting submarine retrofit. He then worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Tom enjoyed watching Nascar and sports. Spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought him the greatest joy. Tom is cherished by all who were blessed to be a part of his life. He leaves a legacy of love, firmly transplanted from his heart to ours.

Friends and family will be received from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
