Thora Kelly

Thora Pavkov Kelly was born January 29, 1926 at home in Waterford, PA to Ralph and Fran Moore.  Following graduation from Waterford High School and Erie Beauty Academy she married Samuel Pavkov and raised four children and a foster son.  Following the death of her husband she married Charles Kelly and added two stepsons to her family.

Thora was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Delbert Moore, husbands, Samuel Pavkov and Charles Kelly, foster son, John Beck, step son, Richard Kelly and son in law, Cecil Vincent Jones, daughters-in-law, Cheryl Pavkov and Barb Kelly.

Since moving from the Erie area in 2002, she has lived with her daughter Mary in Colonial Heights, VA.

Thora leaves behind her children Joan Hart (Tim) of Fairview, PA, Robert Pavkov (Donna) of Midlothian, VA, Mary Jones Corbin (Terry) of North Chesterfield, VA, Roger Pavkov (Marsha) of Salina, KS and Charles Kelly of Brookfield, NJ.  She loved her 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

In Thora’s career as a beautician, she initially worked out of a beauty shop in her home and later worked full time at the Erie County Hospital in Fairview, PA as their beautician until retiring.

She was an active member of the Federated Church of East Springfield, PA, Trinity Methodist Church in Erie, PA and Calvary Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA.  She left her family and friends with a great testimony of her faith and a legacy of love.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, 17001 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at church.
