Tom Eugene Meadows, 61, of Prince George passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Born May 1, 1960 in South Korea, he was the son of the late William Eugene and Bok Soon Meadows, and was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lola Burke.
A retired United States Marine, Tom proudly served his country for 20 years, having served during Operation Desert Storm. After his military career, he worked as a senior operator for Gerdau Steel Mill in Dinwiddie for 16 years. A recent Harley Davidson enthusiast, Tom enjoyed peaceful rides on his Harley. He was involved with the Toys for Tots program for four years, was a comic book collector and loved listening to classic rock from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 28 years, Patti Ann Meadows; children, Silver B. Burke and husband, Zak, Anthony Martinez and wife, Isabel, Jessica Martinez, Jesse Martinez, Michael Martinez; 12 grandchildren; four siblings, Jimmy Meadows, William Eugene Meadows, Jr., Lisa Rusnak and husband, Elzie, Julie Mayhew and husband, Philip; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2021 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday night, January 7, 2021 at the funeral home.
