Ursula K. Strother, 71, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 at her home with her family around her. She was a native of Koblenz, Germany, the daughter of the late Frederick and Theresa Meffert Kunz. She was a well known hairdresser for over fifty-six years. Her last employment was with Harriet's Hair Magic in Colonial Heights. She is survived by her husband, Douglas R. Strother Sr.; daughters, Diane S. Hunter and husband, Gray of Chesterfield, and Debbie S. Slaybaugh and husband, Brad of Colonial Heights; son, David E. Strother and wife, Shelley of Trappe, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Wilton Gray Hunter III, Travis Scott Hunter, Neil Patrick Hunter, Madison Marie Strother, Emily Elizabeth Strother, Haley Marie Slaybaugh, Kellie Ann Slaybaugh, and Casie Elizabeth Slaybaugh; a sister, Rose Marie Herrman; brothers, Horst Kunz, and Rudolph Kunz all of Germany. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday October 22, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Father Lou Ruoff, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
