Velma Davis

Velma Gertrude Neal Davis, 91, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late George V. Neal Sr. and Mae Horton Neal. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her son, Calvin L. Davis Jr.; two sister and one brother. She was a member of Highland United Methodist for many years and was retired as a bookkeeper / supervisor for the Bank of Virginia. Mrs. Davis is survived by a granddaughter, Amy Davis; great grandsons, James Alexander McCoy and wife, Tiffany, and Brian David McCoy; great-great grandchildren, Hartlyn, Asa and Teal all of South Carolina, along with numerous extended family. The family would like to thank the staff of Intrepid Hospice for their loving care and compassion during her time with them. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg with the Reverend Dr. Dorothy O'Quinn officiating. No flowers please.
