Velva Young

Velva Keslar Young, 85, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Dunlop House. Born in Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late William and Arzetta McConnell Keslar; and was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Numa Fleming Young. Mrs. Young is survived by her four daughters, Brenda Wagner and husband, Walt of Chesterfield, Cathy Higginbotham and husband, Hal of Chesapeake, VA, Carol Folaros and husband, Jim of Prince George and Rhonda Stevens and husband, Brian of Glen Allen, VA; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m at the funeral home.
