Ms. Vera was a beloved member of the brotherhood of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In her most recent years, she was a member of the Chester Congregation located in Chester, Virginia. Previously she was a member of the Oyster Point Congregation in Newport News, Virginia and Montclair Congregation, Woodbridge, Virginia. Ms. Vera was a faithful military wife of Curtis L. Wrenn, Sr CWO3 (Retired). During which they traveled to Germany, Hawaii, and other areas in the contiguous United States. Ms. Vera graduated from John Tyler Community College receiving an associate degree in Restaurant Management and worked tirelessly at community locations such as Brown & Williams, Siemens, ARA, and McDonalds. She was also known for her cooking and baking. Friends and family looked forward to her rice pudding and pineapple cake served at family and spiritual gatherings. Several devoted family members preceded her in death. Husband Curtis L Wrenn, Sr., devoted son Col Curtis L Wrenn, Jr, (Retired)(Shelia), a loving daughter-in-law, Daisy Wrenn (Thomas), her father Emmitt Turner, Sr, and brother Emmitt Turner, Jr. Her immediate family members that survive her include Daughters – Shirl Selah-Wrenn, Dr. Corliss Booker, Penny Wrenn, and Carrie Johnson. Sons – Thomas Wrenn (Daisy), Joseph Wrenn, and Michael Wrenn. Granddaughters – Andrea Booker, Carrmen Wrenn, Devin Johnson, Tamara Zeigler, Grandsons – Gorman Booker, Sr, (Sharia), Robert Zeigler (Shannon), Alonzo Zeigler (Hillary). Great granddaughters – Takelia Kershaw, Khia Johnson, Phoenix Galloway, Kassia Booker, Jada Robinson, Milani Zeigler, Destiny Coronado, Yasmin Coronado, Dionna Zeigler. Great grandsons – Gorman Booker, Jr, Isaiah Booker, Merritt Jaffe, Curtis Jaffe, Isaiah Robinson, Angelo Coronado, Johsua Zeigler, Micah Zeigler (Mary). Great great-grandsons – Kartel Miles and Kartier Cade-Booker. Extended family from Birmingham, Alabama include The Parker Family, The Turner Family, The Wrenn Family, The Foy Family and The Brown Family. Extended family members include Linda Booker, Makala Hodge, Lascelle Sweatland, and Lemuel Edwards. Spiritual family members include the worldwide brotherhood of Jehovah’s Witnesses. During the days preceding her death she was cared for by her daughter Corliss Booker, granddaughter Andrea Booker, and great granddaughter TaKeila Kershaw. Likewise, the weeks preceding her death numerous members of her immediate family, extended family, and spiritual family spent time with Ms. Vera as well. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 11. 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Chester Congregation, located at 13301 Harrowgate Road, Chester, VA. Following the services family and friends will gather to share a meal. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jehovah’s Witnesses @ JW.org, search on donate. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
