Vernon Barnes

Vernon Kirkwood Barnes, 72 of Chester, went to be with The Lord, Wednesday, May 29, 2019. He was born July 7, 1946. He was preceded in death by his mother Edna Bass Carson and his brother Ven Barnes. Vernon is survived by his wife Francine Barnes; two daughters Denise Winters and Shayna Barnes; son Vernon Barnes II "Kirk" (Virginia); and three grandchildren Heather Winters, David Smith, and Riley Barnes. Vernon was a member of Chester United Methodist Church. He worked for 40 years at Honeywell. Vernon was also a volunteer with the Bensley-Bermuda Rescue Squad. Vernon will always be remembered as a loving and devoted family man to his wife, children, and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 10:00a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Chester United Methodist Church, 12132 Percival St, Chester, VA 23831, with the Rev. Clara P. Gestwick officiating.
