Viola Miles

Viola Palmore Miles, 92, of Chesterfield County, died on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at her residence. She was native of Petersburg and the daughter of the late James Howard Palmore, Sr. and Daisy Belle Thacker. Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Miles, Sr. and three children; Thomas Raymond Miles, Jr. Nadine M. Daniel, and Shirley M. Nelson She was a member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church and retired after 30 years of service from Titmus Optical. She is survived by her daughter; Arline Peters of South Chesterfield,; son, James C. Miles, Sr and wife Hazel Yvone of South Chesterfield; son in-law Bobby Nelson of Colonial Heights, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 4, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Sylvester Bullock officiating. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.at the funeral home.
