Virgie Smith

Virgie Louise Smith 92, of Colonial Heights, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015. She was born July 6, 1923 in Halifax County, Virginia to the late Samuel and Virgie M. Rickman Buchanan, and was preceded in death by her husband Tommie O. Smith. Mrs. Smith was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. She is survived by her two sons: Tommie Wayne Smith and wife Marsha of Florida, Sammie Michael Smith of Petersburg, two grandchildren Tommy Wayne Smith Jr., Tracy Marie Carlmark, and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday November 20, 2015 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Steve Felker officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park Enon, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
