Virginia Barker

Virginia Mae Barker, 87 of Colonial Heights, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late John and Jessie Shelton Payne and was preceded in death by five brothers. Mrs. Barker was an active member of the Highland United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights, and was also a member of the Southernaires singing group. She is survived by her husband Fred H. Barker III.; children, Keith McCrickard (Sandra) of Hanover, Paula Anderson (Sonja) of Disputanta, Neil Barker of Colonial Heights, two sister in-laws Ethel Payne of Forrest, Virginia and Mabel Payne of Smith Mountain Lake, with numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 17, 2015 in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday March 16, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
