-- View a Video --In Memory Of Virginia Mazza Virginia Dare Mazza, 87, of Matoaca, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at her residence. Born in Matoaca, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Shelton Sr. and Josephine Sadler Shelton, and the widow of John V. Mazza Sr. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Mears and Louise Wheeler. Mrs. Mazza was a lifetime member of Matoaca Baptist Church, and the owner/vice president of Medallion Pools from 1960-1992. She is survived by a daughter, Victoria Mazza Parks and husband, Pete; a son, John V. Mazza Jr. wife, Maria; grandchildren, Robert J. Parks and wife, Sheri, Sheri A. Daisey and husband, Jerry, and John V. Mazza III and girlfriend, Brittany Warthan; great-grandchildren, Austin W. Daisey, Andrew W. Daisey, Victoria G.V. Daisey, and James V. Parks; brothers, Alvin "Bubba" Shelton, Herbert Shelton, and John Shelton; sisters, Marion Mears and Margaret Krause; and a nephew, Jim Hudanich and wife, Nancy of Cape May, New Jersey. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Matoaca Baptist Church, 6409 River Road, Matoaca, Virginia 23803. Entombment will follow at the Mazza Family Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
