Virginia Payne

Virginia "Marie" Walls Payne, 82, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 30, 2017. Born in Petersburg, Virginia, on October 24, 1934 to the late Floyd and Lelia McPherson Swafford, Marie was also preceded in death by two loving husbands, James Walls, Sr. (30 years) and Teddy Payne (30 years); and her son, Alison Brady, Jr. Marie was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Dinwiddie, Virginia. She loved to read her Bible, fishing, baseball, and travel. In her spare time, she would crochet or you would find her working in her beautiful flower gardens. Marie is survived by her loving children, Barbara Edwards, James Walls, Jr. (Trish), Kenneth Walls, Sr., Karen Sparkman, Sharon Barchanowicz (Louis), Susan Cintron (Luis); 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 23814 River Rd, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Raleigh Nunnally officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery 319 S Crater Rd, Petersburg, Virginia 23803. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
