Virginia Gertrude Perkinson, 74, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Church Road, she was the daughter of the late Jennings and Ola Guthrie Lamm, and was preceded in death by a son, David Perkinson and a brother-in-law, Alfred L. Williams. Mrs. Perkinson was a member of Believer's Christian Fellowship Church, the Namozine Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company after 33 years of service. She is survived by her husband of 12 years, George W. Perkinson; a son, George W. Perkinson Jr. and wife, Noel of Salem, Virginia; three grandchildren, Alex, Jessie, and Rachel Perkinson; three sisters, Lois Williams, Gladys Pearce, and Ann Elder; two brothers, Frank (Bubba) Lamm, and Willie Lamm; numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends. A luncheon will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in Believers Christian Fellowship Church, 8400 Wells Road, Ford, Virginia 23850. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with the Reverend Guy Murdock, the Reverend Guy Wayne Murdock Jr., and Pastor Rodney Jenkins officiating.
