Virginia "Perry" Newton Jones

Virginia “Perry” Newton Jones peacefully passed away on July 1, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 23, 1941 in Alberta, Virginia, she is the cherished daughter of Mary Elizabeth Clary and Edgar Morefield Newton. Growing up she shared a close bond with her beloved sister, Nancy Baker Clary. Later in life one of her most treasured discoveries was that she had half-siblings: James’s “Boo” Martin (Nitsa), Frankie Newton Caldwell, Johnny Newton, Kathy Newton Hall. In heaven, she is now reunited with her husband of 42 years, Robert Vaiden Jones, daughter Cynthia “Cindy” Jones Burton, sister Nancy Baker Clary (Thomas), and many other beloved relatives. She dedicated her life to her family, leaving a lasting legacy through her daughters: Robin Correll (Randy), Suzanne Lacheney, Mechelle Jones. She was affectionately known as “Nana” by her grandchildren: Amanda Burton (Stanley Njuguna), Whitney Correll, Blake Correll (Allison), Lynsey L’Ecuyer (Paul), Kyle Lacheney (MacKenzie), Amaris Martinson (Trent); and great grandchildren: Maxwell Correll, Caroline Correll, Landon Correll, Story Lacheney, Elliott L’Ecuyer, Scout Lacheney, Adelie L'Ecuyer. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, July 6, 7:00 p.m. at Life Co, 12501 Life Trail, Chester, VA. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 5, 10:00 a.m.  at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd., S. Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
