Mrs. Vivia Mosley, born as Vivia Marcia Marie Watson on April 22, 1955 in the Parish of St. Andrews in Jamaica, West Indies passed away on Oct. 18, 2015 at MCV Medical Hospital. She gave her life to Christ and became a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Prince George, VA. Vivia was the daughter of Jeffrey S. Watson and Celia E. Watson. She came to the United States at the tender age of 10 and her family settled and raised her in Brooklyn, NY. Upon completion of school she joined the U.S. Army in 1975. She then served 6 years. While enlisted, she met and married Jessie Marvin Mosley in Karlsruke, Germany on August 13, 1976. Out of their union came their one and only child, Natasha Marie Mosley. Once returning to the United States, Vivia and her family settled in Petersburg, VA area. She started her civilian career with Synoptic Systems Corporation and she traveled the globe working as a Systems Analyst. In her travels she took work assignments in Korea, Germany, Panama and the Middle East to say the least. Sometimes these work assignments were during war conflicts and in danger zones such as Saudi Arabia's Dessert Storm Operation and also Iraq which she served on two different occasions. After the passing of her husband Vivia became a franchise owner of Edible Arrangements of Colonial Heights, VA in October 2009. In November 2014 she acquired a second Edible Arrangement franchise in Williamsburg, VA. In May 2013, Vivia earned Bachelor's of Individualized Studies from Virginia State University. In December of 2015 she was to have walked again for her Graduates Certificate. Vivia was preceded in death by her parents Jeffrey S. Watson and Celia E. Seals (Watson). Vivia is survived by her daughter Natasha Marie Mosley; two brothers Gary W. Watson (Rochelle) of Colonial Heights, VA and Franklin B. Seals (Phyllis) of Chester, VA and Aunt Joyce Wright (Reuben) of Lithonia, GA, Uncle Glenn Kiffin (Arlene) of Snellville, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday evening October 23, 2015 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church 4405 Prince George Drive, Prince George, Virginia 23875, with Pastor F. Lamont Gooding officiating. Burial with Military Honors will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday October 26, 2015 at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Rd. Amelia, Virginia 23002.
