W. Melvin

W. Matt Melvin, 59, of Hopewell, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. He was the son of the late K. Mercer and Jean Mahone Melvin. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, R.T. and Annabelle Mahone, and Winnie White Melvin. Mr. Melvin was a member of Crosslight Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Jordan Melvin; step-son, Kevin Allen Rogers (Kim); brothers, Kenneth M. Melvin Jr. and wife, Brenda of Hopewell, Thomas M. Melvin and wife, Cindi of South Africa and John M. Melvin and wife, Becky of Dinwiddie; nephews, Jared M. Melvin, Jonathan M. Melvin, Zachary T. Melvin, and Eli P. Melvin; nieces, Jessica M. Melvin and Rachel M. Melvin; devoted friend, Kenny Bilyard; and his pastor, Mike Buckley. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 in the Crosslight Assembly of God Church, 27 Seyler Drive, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Mike Buckley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
