Walter Jones

Walter Levi Jones, 81, of Petersburg, passed away Friday December 2, 2011. He was the son of the late Levi Owen and Gladys Irene Ball Jones. Mr. Jones was retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 2, life member of the D.A.V., the Fraternal Order of Eagles 882, and the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge 1993. He is survived by his wife Rosemary E. Jones., daughter Michelle Richardson and husband Randy, grandchildren Dominick and Nakotah Richardson, two sons M. Dean Jones and J. Dale Jones, five grandchildren, two sisters Betty Jones, Effie Jones, sister in-law Wanda Jones, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday December 7, 2011 at Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, with the Reverend David Prather officiating. The family has asked for no food or flowers and for donations to be made in honor of Mr. Jones to the Petersburg Animal Shelter, 1600 Johnson Road Petersburg, Virginia 23805. The Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 2033 Boulevard are handling funeral arrangements.
