Walter Aaron Lawson, 74, of Colonial Heights, passed away Friday, June 12, 2015. He was born on October 17, 1940 in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Alvis Reid and Rosetta Niten Lawson. Mr. Lawson was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Valeria O. Lawson; son, Walter Aaron Lawson, Jr., and wife, Patricia of Colonial Heights; daughter, Michelle Lawson Glenn of California; grandsons, Nikolaus James and Alexander Reid Lawson of Colonial Heights, Stephen Michael Glenn, Jr. of California; ten brothers; one sister; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3701 Conduit Road, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with the Reverend Donna Mott officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church.
