Wanda Kay Cabaniss, 70, of Disputanta, Virginia, was taken suddenly from us on Monday, December 26, 2022, and her family and friends are deeply saddened by her passing.
Kay was born on June 4, 1952, in Juneau, Alaska. She was the daughter of the late Herman Cabaniss and Elizabeth Spiers Cabaniss, and was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Jim Cabaniss. She is survived by her brother, Carl Cabaniss (Julie) as well as many cousins and lifelong friends.
Kay loved living on her farm in Disputanta where she enjoyed wildlife and the beauty of the land. She also loved all animals and supported many animal shelters, giving love and a home to many shelter dogs. In addition to her passion for animals, she was a strong supporter of our military, sending books and DVDs to our troops stationed at home and abroad. Even when at her local diner, she made sure military and first-responders were taken care of and would generously pay for their meals to show her appreciation.
Kay was a giving person, always putting others before herself, and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
