Wanda L. Watkins, 68, of Disputanta, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Claude Beers and Helen Sadler Beers Lambert. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Scott Watkins. Mrs. Watkins was a former Colonial Heights Baptist Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible school teacher for many years. She was a member of Seekers Sunday school class at Oakland Baptist Church, and a former Twig volunteer at Southside Regional Medical Center. Wanda was known throughout the tri-city area as "the Avon Lady" for 25 years. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William T. Watkins; a daughter, Ellen Watkins Juliano and husband, John A. Juliano of Deltona, Florida; and a grandson, John A. Juliano Jr. A Celebration of Wanda's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Robert Livesay officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
