Warren Joseph Hubbard, 87, of Colonial Heights, died Friday, March 29, 2013. He was born in Richmond, Virginia, and was the son of the late Hessie Mansfield and Clara Gertrude Hobson Hubbard. He was the widower of Ruby Wagner Hubbard and was preceded in death by a son, Keith Hubbard. Mr. Hubbard was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Colonial Heights for over 40 years, retired from the The Exxon Corp., a U. S. Army Veteran of WW II, and a former Mayor of Colonial Heights. He is survived by a son and daughter in-law, Robert and Deborah Hubbard of Summerland Florida; two daughters and son in-laws, Cathy and Buzz Oakley of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Diane and Jeff Thompson of Colonial Heights; nine grandchildren, Julie Snowdy, Chris and Jay Oakley, Allison and Molly Thompson, Eric, Hannah, Halley and Seth Hubbard; five great-grandchildren; brother, Earl E. Hubbard of Richmond and his wonderful family at the Dunlop House. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester with the Reverend Fred Atkins officiating. His remains rest after 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small funeral home and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
