Wilbur Hawks Iii

Wilbur Andrew Hawks III, 61, of Carson passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at MCV Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Wilbur Andrew Hawks Jr. and Nancy Page Brockwell Hawks. Mr. Hawks was a retired Crane Operator for Local Union 147. He is survived by his wife, Betty Spence Hawks; two sons, Wilbur Andrew Hawks IV and wife, Cyndi of Carson and Jason Alvin Hawks and wife, Kristen; a daughter, Crystal Hawks Toombs and husband, Marshall; grandchildren, Devin, Blake, Lane, Caleb, Emaleigh, Abbie, Makayla, Katie Lou, and Jordan; his mother, Nancy B. Hawks; and three sisters, Gayle Phillips and husband, Bruce, Donna Hayes and husband, Billy, and Bryan Phillingane and husband, Herbert; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014 in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road with the Reverend Hugh Mays officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
