Willard Barner Poarch, 88, of Colonial Heights passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Born February 24, 1933, he was the son of the late James Wharton and Clara May Poarch, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Williams Poarch; and siblings, Hattie Duncan, Christine Hoell, James Poarch, John Poarch, and William Poarch.
He as a longtime member of Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church and retired from Hercules Chemical Company at the age of 62 after many years of service.
He is survived by his sister, Gladys Lesley (Willard); daughters, Janet Arrington, Margaret Poarch, Lisa Arrington (Curtis); grandchildren, Christy Toombs (Kenneth), Todd Arrington (Toni), Ryan Arrington, Emily Arrington; great-grandchildren, Austin Toombs, Noah Toombs, Brayson Arrington, Brennan Arrington, Baylor Arrington; beloved friends, Pete McCaffity, Johnny Hendrick; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
