William Bowe

William Leroy "Bill" Bowe 93, of Colonial Heights, passed away Sunday September 22, 2013. He was born July, 30 1920 to the late Frank T. Bowe and Norma Baldwin Brough Bowe and was preceded in death by his two wives Margaret T. Bowe and Mary Gunn Bowe, a son David Bowe, a daughter Sylvia Friesenhahn, four brothers and two sisters, Mr. Bowe was a W.W.II United States Navy Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 284, and a member of the former Third Presbyterian Church in Petersburg. He is survived by a daughter Carolyn Juanita Harris of Hopewell, son Morris C. Thomas of Alabama, brother Carlton E. Bowe of Colonial Heights, sister Norma Bowe Moore of Matoaca, a loving grandson and caretaker Kenneth L. Bowe, of Chester, eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 25, 2013 in Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery Church Road, Virginia with the Reverend Arthur Lands officiating. An American Legion Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday September 24, 2013 with visitation to follow till 8:30 p.m., at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 284 505 Springdale Avenue Colonial Heights Virginia 23834.
