William R. "Bill" Caton, 88, of Chester, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Henrico Doctor's Hospital. Born in Vienna, Virginia he was the son of the late Robert and Emily Cutshaw Caton, and was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Griffin, two sisters and a brother. Mr. Caton was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, a retired machine mechanic with Philip Morris, and a veteran in the United States Army, a Purple Heart recipient. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Caton; two daughters, Joyce C. Griffin and husband, Robert and Audrey M. Hester and husband, Dale A. all of Chesterfield; four grandchildren, Glen Griffin, Travis Griffin, Lisa Goad, and Scott Andrews; eight great-grandchildren, Erica Griffin, Danielle Griffin, Brooke Griffin, Hunter Powell, Jacob Jude Griffin, Jerrica Hawkins, Dakoda Goad, and Lilly Andrews; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Eugene Ballance officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Enon. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
