Lt. Col. William (Bill) Forrest Henry U.S. A. F. Ret., 79, of Colonial Heights, died Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born November 2, 1928 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to the late Harry James and Winifred Ferguson Henry and was preceded in death by his sister, Darla Henry Popovac of Alexandria, Louisiana, brother, Harry James Henry Jr. of Sulphur, Louisiana. Mr. Henry was a graduate of Oklahoma Military Academy and University of Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Army and Air Force during W.W. II, Korea and the Cuban missile crisis. Mr. Henry was the retired owner of Precision Tune in Petersburg.. He was a member of Ocran United Methodist Church, Acca Temple Shrine, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years Jean Garrett Henry, two daughters, Caryl Henry Maitland (Barry) of Richmond and Susan Henry Crocker (Bruce) of Colonial Heights; six grandchildren, Jacqueline Henry, Jaycie Crocker, Justin, Jeremy, Jayson and Jeana Maitland. Also survived by several special nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Ocran United Methodist Church with the Reverend Gene Tatum officiating and where the family will receive friends after the service until 5:30 p.m. Interment Private.
