William Lee Hobson, 52, of Colonial Heights, went home to his Heavenly Father Sunday, February 15, 2015 at McGuire VA Medical Center. Born in New Albany, Indiana, he was preceded in death by his father James L. Hobson. Mr. Hobson was a United States Army veteran, and a retired Construction Worker. He is survived by a son, Kristopher J. Hobson of Florida; a daughter, Eleanor M. Byrne of Long Beach, New York; his significant other, Helen Swartout of Colonial Heights; mother, Linda Bobenstadt Hobson, two brothers, Jerry Reynolds of Kentucky and James L. Hobson of Florida; two sisters, Joey M. Hobson of Florida and Dawn M. Hobson of North Carolina; and thirteen grandchildren. William was proud of his faith and enjoyed all activities involving faith-based missions, nursing home ministries, Haiti Reconstruction projects, and multiple Bible studies. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 12715 Acorn Drive, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Andrew Ware, the Reverend Ron Plyler, and the Reverend Dr. Henry Butler officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
