William Bruce Horne William Bruce "Bill" Horne, born on November 2, 1929, went home with Jesus on May 16, 201. He was the son of the later Alfred Horne and Ruth Smith Horne formerly of Wise, Virginia. Mr. Horne is a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Continental Can for 27 years, and also worked in security. He loved to serve the elderly and those in need. Bill is survived by his wife of 25 years, Barbara M. Horne; two daughters, Cathy Redmond and Mitzi Crowder both of Chester; a son, Steve Horne of Prince George; a step-daughter, Dora Thompson of Colonial Heights; a step-son, Keith D. Brown of Colonial Heights; a granddaughter, Stacey Faille and husband, Richard of Colonial Heights; a grandson, Matt Taylor of Chester; one great-grandson, Matthew Taylor Jr. of Chesterfield; two sisters, Charlotte Salyer of Kingsport, Tennessee; and Barbara, two brothers Ronnie and Robert Horne and his step- mother Lucille Horne, numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous friends that stuck by his side. A memorial service will be held at 3: 00 p.m. May 19, 2011 at Bermuda Baptist Church 139112 Jefferson Davis Highway Chester, Virginia 23831, with the Reverend Ron Salyer officiating. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 25, 2011 in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia with the Reverend Rodney Jenkins officiating.
